The International Designers Network is a consulting firm for the fashion, beauty, garment, textile and lifestyle as well as the arts and entertainment industries.

IDN is the world’s “Internet Expo” where the different talents of designers and the different production strengths of manufacturers come together using our contacts and detailed database as a tool to get things made wherever and whenever.

With the support of the German Ministry for Economics and Technology according to a decision of the German Parliament, IDN will organize the first German Fashion Film Awards, an export support of the Ministry for young designer brands.

Aim of this initiative is to strengthen the competitiveness of this creative industries so that people will no more speak about the “made in Germany” but the “created in Germany”!

All German designers who create for their own brand and whose company exists between 2 (two) and 8 (eight) years can participate. All they have to do is to create a 3 minutes video clip under the title MY CREATION. They have the choice between three sectors: Menswear, Womenswear and Accessories. Designers who want to participate in several sectors have to subscribe separately for each of them.

At the same time we want to invite students of the German Film Academies to collaborate with their designer colleagues in order to develop new promotion and marketing ways for the future.

The registration for this competition is open up to 28 of February 2010. The clips have to be send in before end of April 2010.

An international Jury of Experts from Fashion, Music and Film will pick the best clips in each category. The winners will be announced during a Gala Event beginning of July 2010 during the Fashion Week Berlin.

After this event the clips will be unified on a DVD and will be presented and distributed by 45 German Embassies to the important local buyers and journalists. All clips will also be presented via Internet and Fashion TV.

The winners will be given different prizes such as sponsorships for free booths in fashion fairs, sales opportunities in international department stores or gifts like high tech sewing machines or computer design systems.

The aim of this competition is to support young creative people in the development of their brands and creativity all around the world. The German Fashion Film Awards wants to be the modern alternative to the classic fashion shows for young designers with a restricted budget.

Create a short film, maximum 3-minutes and send it as a digital Quick Time movie. (with a minimum of 720 x 576 pixels)

Tell your story, show your look, present your style!

There are no limits! Only Original and Authorized Music and video will be accepted. Please don’t just film your fashion show or give your spoken comments. Show us something more creative!
